The beauty of Acadia is really in its detail. You have to get out of the car and unleash your inner mountain goat and climb the rocky shore and explore the woods. Its not a place for those who wish to just stare out the window of the car or stand on an observation deck looking to be wowed in the way one can be at the Grand Canyon. It encourages one to engage with it, not just look.
